CONSERVATORY AND MUSIC PARK

The music park (parque de la musica) was desingned by the architect Carolina Perea. 
The water source light that is activated by the music, a wide area concerts, sculptures of musicians on a human scale in iron, are among the attractions of the Music Park. There are held music events and recreation.
Some events that take place there are Ibague Jazz Festival, folkloric and December samples typical of the Christmas celebrations in Colombia.

  CONSERVATORY (Academy of Music)
Is next to the music park, is a Republican-style building. Founded in 1906 by the music master Alberto Castilla Buenaventura, is one of the most representative symbol of our musical capital.




The Conservatory is an ancient building where you can find one of the most important music schools in Colombia, "Amina Melendro of Pulecio" and the beautiful concert room Alberto Castilla.

PLAZA DE BOLIVAR (Bolivar Square)
The recently remodelled Plaza de Bolivar forms the centre of the city's comercial district and is attractively decorated with trees and fountains. there is also the cathederal, the town hall, justice palace, antique buildings and some cofeeshops and restaurants. Leading down from the plaza is carrera 3, a long pedestrianised street flanked by shops, bars and fast food restaurants.
Is a traditional park in the center of the city that brings together hundreds of people daily, is full of tradition and its Surroundings find traditional buildings of the city.

CENTENNIAL PARK AND ACOUSTIC SHELL

It offers visitors a pleasant natural environment, especially for lovers of hiking and cycling. It is a cozy major center of family reunion, with the shell acoustic duet created in honor Garzon Collazos, masters of Tolima music.

Regarded as the lung of the city, and with its beautiful vegetation, Centennial Park makes for a valued space for exercise or walking.

Within the Centennial Park is the sound shell "Garzón y Collazos". It is a stage for outdoor performances and many events are held there in the city including the core activities of Colombian Folklore Festival.      Open to the public daily.

LA TERCERA (The 3rd Commercial Street)
Is a commercial street, full of clothing shops, fast food locals, you can find lots of things on this street, souvenirs, sellers of cheap toys and many things on the street, and great place to see the people of the city on thir regular lifes. The combeima mall is there, also la 14 mall.
